As part of our ongoing commitment to inspiring the next generation of construction professionals, we introduced our Virtual Work Experience project to both years 9 and 10 at London Design and Engineering UTC on World Youth Skills Day. Students designed, modeled and presented their proposals for a new sustainable community hub to Neilcott representatives. This activity, delivered over 4 days, enabled students to expand their knowledge of the construction industry, explore their creativity skills, whilst also further developing vital employability skills, including teamwork, communication, problem solving and time management.
Our Social Value Manager, Jenny Bignell, and Assistant Design Manager, Rohan Randhawa, were in attendance to introduce the project brief and support students with their initial ideas. With the facilities on offer at LDEUTC and the exceptional work ethic and ability of its students, initial ideas were of an exceptional standard, with many producing 3D digital models!
