The Gate Reading provides high-quality, updated facilities for the important community activities provided by the church. As with all of our projects, the design of the scheme was considered with is environment and purpose in mind. Copper standing seam cladding to the pitched roofs, fascias and feature north wall provide a timeless appearance in keeping with traditional use of copper on church buildings.
A natural sedum flat roof, an acoustically attenuated passive ventilation system and roof photovoltaic solar panels incorporated within the roof design provide integrated sustainability features to minimise the buildings future carbon footprint
