Project Completion – Brewers’ Hall

Project Completion – Brewers’ Hall

We are pleased to have recently completed the works at Brewers’ Hall to expand and enhance this historic building through a complex rooftop extension.

The Worshipful Company of Brewers is one of the ancient Livery Companies of the City of London. London brewers are known to have organised as a group in the 13th century and their first royal charter was granted by Henry VI in 1438.  The company’s first hall was destroyed by the Great Fire of London in 1666.  The current Brewers’ Hall was built in 1960, after bombing in 1940 destroyed the previous building.  The current building is now available to hire for events.

Neilcott was appointed following competitive single stage tender to undertake the design and construction of a vertical rooftop extension and internal remodelling within the Brewer’s Hall.

We extended the existing stone façade at the 3rd floor and added a new mansard roof extension to the 4th and 5th floors with preoxidised copper cladding.  We also undertook refurbishment works to create additional CAT-A office space.

Congratulations to all those involved in the completion of this highly complex project.
