Ground-breaking @ Churchill Court

We are pleased to share photos from our recent Groundbreaking Ceremony for our £11m Neilcott Fit Out project at Churchill Court. London Borough of Bromley will benefit from this transformative project which will relocate its Civic Offices to a more modern facility. The project, due to complete later this year, involves internal CATB fit out works including a refurbished main reception, a secondary reception serving its residents, a new democratic hub with committee rooms, council chambers, and a mayoral suite, as well as external landscaping works and the introduction of updated mechanical and electrical plant. Collaboration has been a key theme throughout the pre-construction phase of this project. Critically, early engagement with our specialist fit out supply chain has allowed us to develop key design information for specialised packages, including tiered seating, reception desks, lifts, roller racking and quick-release glazed security screens. “As a local firm focused on high-quality construction and fit-out across London and the South East, we are pleased to have been appointed to work alongside Bromley Council and Pellings LLP in creating a new Civic Centre for the Borough of Bromley – Kevin Kerr, Senior Site Manager at Neilcott Construction. We are also delighted to work with the Council & local partner London South East Colleges to provide meaningful employment, skills & training opportunities for local people. We have already facilitated a site tour for students to observe works & methods used during the demolition stage & we look forward to further close collaboration throughout the project.

Debt Awareness Week 2024

Debt Awareness Week is an annual event dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of financial literacy and responsible debt management. Tips for Financial Literacy: Budgeting: Create a monthly budget to track income and expenses. Allocate funds for essentials such as housing, utilities, and groceries, and set aside savings for emergencies and future goals. Debt Management: Prioritise high-interest debt and develop a repayment plan to pay it off as quickly as possible. Consider consolidating debt or negotiating with creditors to lower interest rates or payment terms. Saving and Investing: Start saving early and regularly contribute to a savings account or retirement plan. Explore investment options such as stocks, bonds, and mutual funds to grow your wealth over time. Credit Management: Monitor your credit score regularly and understand the factors that influence it, such as payment history and credit utilisation. Use credit responsibly and avoid maxing out credit cards or opening unnecessary accounts. Groundbreaking @ SCC Lakers Short Breaks

Families set to benefit from new short breaks accommodation being built in Woking helped mark the official start of work at a milestone ground-breaking ceremony. The purpose-built £5.7m centre will enable autistic people and those with learning disabilities to enjoy new experiences while their families take a break from caring. It’s part of Surrey County Council’s major investment in specialist housing to help people gain independence in the right homes with the right support. The team at Neilcott Construction Limited Ltd joined families at the site in Goldsworth Park, alongside representatives from the county council as well as architects Atkins Realis. Also marking the occasion were Woking MP Jonathan Lord and representatives from Woking Borough Council and community organisations. The new accommodation on the site of the old Lakers Youth Centre will provide eight ensuite bedrooms as well as activity spaces and landscaped gardens. It will be the first such centre in this part of the county and will ultimately add almost 2,500 nights of additional short breaks capacity per year for adults with additional and complex needs. Check out the walk through for this scheme below: https://youtu.be/V8x9xg3VoF0

World Sleep Day 2024

Today we are highlighting #WorldSleepDay – an annual event intended to be a celebration of sleep and a call to action on important issues related to sleep, including medicine, education, social aspects and driving. Sleep is essential to health and when we don’t get enough sleep, or our sleep is poor quality, we suffer the short and long-term consequences of sleep deprivation and fatigue. This results in irritability, less patience, less empathy, slower thinking, more sluggishness and less of an ability to cope with the unexpected. At Neilcott, we understand that working in the construction industry can often lead to poor sleep quality as a result of irregular shift patterns, long hours, early starts & demanding workloads. We are proud supporters of #TheLighthouseCharity, who have partnered with Sleepstation to help combat this issue. Sleepstation offer a completely free and clinically proven sleep improvement programme to help address poor sleep in the industry. Sleepstation looks at the underlying reasons as to why people are having problems and has been proven to address even the most severe sleep issues. Dedicated support teams deliver a plan tailored to any of the identified issues so you can begin your journey to better sleep. You can access Sleepstation via the Lighthouse Club app now.
