We’re using BRE SmartWaste!

We’re using BRE Smartwaste! Neilcott is committed to minimising the impact of our activities on the environment in order to achieve our target of Net Zero Carbon by 2050. In-line with the government’s Procurement Policy Note 06/21, our Carbon Reduction Plan details our baseline activities and our approach to reducing carbon emissions. Our ISO14001 accredited Environmental Management system now includes using BRE SmartWaste to allow us to simply and accurately capture data, monitor and report our environmental impacts in one place. This allow us to easily compare project and company performance with industry benchmarks, highlight areas for improvement, time/money savings and set targets to reduce the environmental impacts of our construction projects. We support our public and private sector clients in their ‘Building Back Greener’ ambitions, carefully balancing capital, revenue and environmental costs to provide best whole-life value through energy and carbon efficient buildings. We produce and share comprehensive reports on carbon impacts from energy use, embodied carbon of materials, transport impacts, waste management and water use against agreed KPIs – allowing us to quickly and easily evidence BREEAM credits and compliance with client sustainability targets.

New Project Win – Notting Hill and Ealing High School!

New Project Win – Notting Hill and Ealing High School! The Girls’ Day School Trust is the UK’s leading family of 25 independent girls’ schools, delivering academic excellence in first class facilities. We are proud to have worked with the Trust at a number of their schools as they develop and upgrade their estate, most recently at Wimbledon High School, Bromley High School and Brighton Girls’ School.  We are therefore thrilled to be continuing our relationship with GDST by undertaking construction works at their Notting Hill and Ealing High School site to deliver a new junior school building. The new junior school building will be constructed using a highly-sustainable hybrid cross laminated timber-framed solution and will provide teaching spaces for creative arts, life sciences, technology, ICT, music and general study. Works are due to commence later this summer and the new facility will be ready for the new school year in 2023.

Employee Ownership
Trust

Charting an exciting, forward-thinking and sustainable path, on 2nd March, 2020 the Neilcott Group transitioned to Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) status. This initiative ensures that the underlying principles which have governed the Group’s operational and commercial approach and which have underpinned outstanding performance over many years, will remain embedded in our company ethos for the long term. The move will also enable the ambitions of all our staff, our clients and our supply chain to be ever more closely aligned in the continued pursuit of construction excellence. EOT status entails no changes within the management team; Malcolm Elster continues to lead the company in his role as Managing Director, driving the ongoing success of the business, supported by his fellow Directors, Deputy Managing Director Rob Weatherston, Construction Director Neil Harrison and Commercial Director Joe Gissane. This arrangement will however provide a sound structure within which a smooth and seamless transition of responsibilities to our new generation of construction talent can be ensured.
