It was a delight to take 9 pupils (aged 5-11) from nearby Uplands Primary School on a site-tour of our Fareham Live project.
Formerly known as Ferneham Hall, the town’s beloved entertainment hub and events venue opened in 1982 & has shown many music, comedy and theatre shows over the decades.
With demolition of the original building now complete, the brand new Fareham Live, a state-of-the-art venue with an 800-seat auditorium, second smaller performance space, studio space and café/bar, is starting to take shape, with the steel frame currently nearing completion
The new facility is part of a wider Fareham Civic Quarter redevelopment masterplan, which includes demolishing the adjacent Osborn Road car park to make way for a new ground level car park that better meets the needs of today’s users.
As part of our ongoing social value and local community engagement activities, we arranged for some local Uplands Primary School pupils to visit the site in person, where they could see the ongoing brickwork, ground works, scaffolding and preparation for concrete floors. The tour enabled discussions around site safety and project progression, with the aim of inspiring a new generation of young people to follow a career in construction.
